When your puppy arrives at home, they'll be a little unsettled. It's a big change. The best way to make them feel loved is to have a cuddly blanket or soft toy and speak in a soothing quiet voice.
Puppies need lots of sleep so try not to let kids disrupt this – but do continue life as normal. They'll get used to sleeping through even a loud guitar!
During the first week, start as you mean to go on. Get them into a regular toilet training routine and begin to apply rules about behaviour from day one.
Supervise introductions to all family members and other pets.
Give pup a quiet, safe place or his own, such as a crate, where he can go to rest and have some time on his own.
