Can I recycle TUX packaging?
You sure can. TUX bags are recyclable through the Soft Plastics Recycling Scheme. Just return them to participating stores across New Zealand.
Our huntaways and heading dogs play an essential role in the New Zealand economy, supporting farmers to manage their livestock, day in, day out.
For over 70 years, farmers have been choosing TUX to keep their dogs "fit as a fiddle, sharp as a knife", and we appreciate the amazing support they have given us over the years.
TUX has been a major sponsor of the NZ Sheep Dog Trial Association for 58 years. We are incredibly proud of this long-standing relationship with a sport that has such a rich history in NZ and that, at its core, celebrates the deep connection between dogs and their owners.
The TUX Handy and Yarding events take place up and down the country between July and January. For more information about the NZSDTA, their competitions and our partnership click learn more.
All of our TUX bags can be recycled in New Zealand through return to store. And, if you pop your TUX bags into Soft Plastics NZ collection points nationwide, there is a very strong chance that the brand that has fuelled New Zealand working dogs for generations could end up back on the farm as a sturdy fence post.
Over 90% of the soft plastic dropped off for recycling goes to Future Post, who use it to make UV stabilised posts for a variety of functions. Our TUX factory in Marton has also been partnering directly with Future Post since 2020, to help recycle soft plastic packaging and work towards achieving our factory’s zero waste to landfill target.
